To enable the functionality, users must record a script in their own voice and provide approval.

Truecaller, the famous caller ID service, is releasing a new AI function that allows users to answer phone calls in their ‘own voice’. The invention, made possible by a collaboration with Microsoft, makes use of the tech giant’s Personal Voice technology. Truecaller users may make a digital copy of a brief screenplay in their own voice, allowing the Assistant to answer to callers in a more natural way. This feature improves the user experience by adding a customised touch to phone conversations.

The personal speech function, which is first available to paying Truecaller subscribers, marks a significant development in AI-powered voice technology. While users can customise follow-up answers, Truecaller has restricted customisation of the first greeting template to ensure clarity that callers are talking with a digital version of the user.
